What if the problem isn’t what you think?

If there’s one thing you may not know about me yet, it's this - I ❤️ a good personality assessment.

Give me a Strengthsfinder, Enneagram, DISC, Myers-Briggs… I’m in! I’ve taken them all — not just once, but probably a few times each — and I’m endlessly curious about what they reveal. (If we’ve worked together, chances are I’ve asked you your type too. I just can't help it.)

Lately, I’ve been getting daily self-insights through a portal my employer provides. It pulls from all of my personality assessment results and offers short coaching-style reflections — and wow, they’ve been spot on lately and reassure me I am doing the work that aligns with my strengths..

This one landed in my inbox the other day:

“Being high in Relator®, your authenticity likely makes you someone people feel comfortable trusting. Consider taking training on coaching or leadership to prepare for when others confide in you as a trusted advisor."

Hello? 🙋

And this one, later that same week:

“As someone with Empathy®, you could help others process how they're feeling about their work. When others feel excited by a challenge, help them visualize the potential feelings and experiences of reaching their goals. When others feel frustrated, listen and help them work through what could be done to alleviate frustrations.”

These reminders made me pause and smile 😄 — not necesarily because they surprised me, but because they affirmed the work that I'm doing as a career empowerment coach - I really feel like I'm doing the work I was meant to do.

I didn’t start out as a coach. I've spent years in HR — six roles across 10+ years — always searching for the “right” fit. But no matter where I landed, something always felt a little off after a while. It wasn’t until I started leaning into coaching that things are finally clicking. I realized it wasn’t the company or the job title that was the problem… it was that I wasn’t using my strengths in a way that was authentic to me.

Now, working with clients, I get to show up as myself. I listen deeply. I hold space. I ask questions that help people unlock what’s been buried or overlooked. I support people in getting unstuck, stepping into their confidence, and advocating for what they really want — even when it feels scary AF. 🔥

That’s the power of self-awareness.

When you truly know yourself — your strengths, your values, how you're wired— things shift. You stop playing small. You stop settling.

You get clear on what feels right. You start making more intentional decisions. You build a career (and life) that actually fits.

A lot of people come to coaching for career growth, but what they’re really looking for is alignment with their values — they just don’t always know it yet.

That’s why I see self-awareness as more than a nice-to-have. It’s the foundation of fulfillment — in your work, your relationships, and the way you show up every day. 👏

And if you’re reading this and wondering... I want you to know — you don’t have to figure it out alone. That’s where coaching comes in.

This work is deeply personal, and it’s also powerful. If you’re ready to get to know yourself in a new way — or to finally act on what you already know — I’d love to support you.
