Meet Emily

Hey! My name’s Emily and I am a career empowerment and leadership coach!

I spent the majority of my youth in the Metro DC area and made a big transition in 2013 to move across the country, away from my friends and family to live in beautiful San Diego, CA. Since it’s nice weather year-round, I get to enjoy playing beach volleyball, co-ed floor hockey and Buti yoga (check it out if you’re not familiar!) I enjoy spending time with my partner and our pup child, Cali (short for California… clever, I know 😉) I love Thai food and exploring the world around me. I’ll admit that I am a bit of a serial planner – I usually have some sort of a rough itinerary whenever we go somewhere and balance that out with my strong desire to have fun and laugh along the way. I yearn to connect deeply with people and prefer quality over quantity when it comes to my relationships.

Throughout my 13+ years on the inside of Human Resources, I navigated almost every industry imaginable - from fast-paced software to higher education. I’ve sat on both sides of the corporate table: as the hiring manager reviewing boat-loads of resumes, and as the employee negotiating my own salary and pushing for growth. I have been exactly where you are. And that experience is the precise reason I know what it takes to move through it. I learned firsthand that whether you are an individual trying to navigate your career, or a company trying to build a thriving culture, the secret ingredient is always the same: human connection, mutual respect, and the courage to show up authentically.

That’s why I transitioned from traditional HR to become a certified Career Empowerment & Leadership Coach. Today, my work is centered on helping people - and the organizations they work for - take a proud STAND for themselves.

 

I bring a high-energy, high-touch approach to everything I do. Whether I am partnering with an ambitious professional to reclaim their career path, or facilitating interactive workshops for small-to-mid-sized companies to develop authentic, effective leaders, my goal is to make growth feel supportive, engaging, and (dare I say it?) actually fun.

I don't come to our partnership with a "one size fits all" approach. Instead, I show up as a supportive mirror, a challenger of self-limiting beliefs, a gentle accountability partner, and a fierce advocate.

 

My absolute favorite part of being a coach is the human connection - and getting to celebrate and cheer you on when you realize just how much is truly possible for you.
