Ever replay a meeting in your head afterwards?

It's the month of girl power! 💪 #womenshistorymonth
I would love to hear how you celebrated International Women's Day this year!
While we're on the subject, let's talk about women and women voices...
Have you ever walked away from a meeting replaying what you said — or what you didn’t say?
Ever wondered if you came across as too much… or not enough?Ever held back an idea because you weren’t sure how it would land?Ever felt confident one moment… and then second-guessed yourself later? 👋
If any of that sounds familiar, you’re definitely not alone.
I see this in the coaching work I do — and honestly, I’ve experienced it in my own career too. Women are often doing this constant balancing act.
Reading the room.
Adjusting our tone.
Choosing our words carefully.
Trying to be confident… but not too confident.
Clear… but still likable
And sometimes the exact same behavior gets interpreted totally differently depending on who it’s coming from.
A woman gets called “aggressive” or "mean", when what’s actually happening is clarity. Or strong boundaries. Or just saying the thing directly.
After a while, it can get in your head a little. It feels exhausting. Imposter syndrome creeps in - even for incredibly capable people.
I’ve watched talented women question themselves... not because they’re not ready (nope), but because we've been conditioned to think they need to be more ready.
More polished.
More certain.
More proven.
Meanwhile, we're already doing amazing work.💯
Throughout my own career, one thing I always look at when I'm considering a new job opportunity is who is sitting in leadership, the C-suite. How many women are in senior leadership? What does representation look like there? I always check the leadership page.
I do that because I see it as a quiet signal about whose voices are really valued within that organization.
And maybe this is a bold of me… but I genuinely think if more women were leading companies, governments, and big decisions in the world - we'd all be better off. 🔥
More collaboration.More empathy.Still plenty of strength and decisiveness.
Just… maybe a little less ego in the room.
Which is part of why I care so much about helping women trust themselves more and step into their power and confidence in whatever way feels right for them.
Self-advocacy doesn’t have to be loud.Confidence doesn’t have to look one specific way.
It can be calm.
Thoughtful.
Steady.
And still incredibly powerful.
I love working with all humans (truly! Men are most def welcome here), but I do hold a special place in my heart for women 💗 because something really cool happens when we women start believing in ourselves a little more.
We take up space. We speak up.We lift other women up too! 🙌
And that kind of ripple effect? It’s fucking powerful.
Sometimes the biggest shift happens when you realize...'Oh, it’s not just me'.
I’m curious — have you ever had one of those moments at work where you thought: "Wait… why am I doubting myself right now?"
If that question hits a little close to home, you’re definitely not the only one.
If any of this resonates with you, you might want to check out my Advocate & Elevate group. It’s a small community of thoughtful, driven women who are figuring this stuff out together - building confidence, practicing self-advocacy, and supporting each other along the way.
